Fausto Arcentales was a Lyndhurst High School Boys Soccer Team Coach, dedicated volunteer and trainer, family member and friend! Although we lost Fausto suddenly two years ago, he will always remain in our thoughts and hearts as a vital part of the Lyndhurst Soccer Family!!
Please join the LHS Boys Team as they honor Coach Fausto and support the Fausto Arcentales Leadership Award Scholarship for young athletes.
Fausto was and will always be a Golden Bear and in his memory we will continue to “Work Hard For One Another!!”

A lot of kids aspire to reach the highest rung on the sports ladder, but only a handful makes it even halfway up. Even fewer reach the top of the ladder.
Mackenzie Gress is certainly not one of those.
In fact, Gress, the Lyndhurst High School sophomore, is just about at the pinnacle of the soccer world.
When Gress started to play soccer as a little girl, she was already a rare breed. She felt totally comfortable right away as a goalkeeper.
“I played for the Lyndhurst Recreation travel soccer team,” said the 15-year-old Gress. “I played half the game in the field and half in goal. But I really liked being a goalie.”
UPDATE, April 27th 2020:
Due to the current situation with COVID-19 and uncertainty of when New Jersey schools may reopen, the Lyndhurst Soccer Club Board has decided to cancel the 2020 Spring season. The health and Safety of our players, parents, coaches and referees is more important than anything else and we believe this is the only option.
Refunds for anyone who has registered will be processed on the week of April 27th, and have all been processed.
We are excited and look forward to an exciting FALL season!!!
To All Lyndhurst Soccer Players and Families,
We wanted to provide an update and advisory on the emerging and evolving health situation regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and what precautions are being implemented.
The Lyndhurst Soccer Club (LSC) Board has been in contact with Commissioners and Officials from the Township of Lyndhurst as well as Health Organizations to obtain guidance on this situation. As you likely know, all Lyndhurst Schools have been temporarily closed as a step to reduce the risk of exposure to our children. In alignment with actions taken by local community and health organizations as well as regional government agencies, the LSC will also be taking measures to reduce any health risk to our Club’s Players and Members.
All of our Travel Program Teams currently play in the Northern Counties Soccer Association (NCSA) league. The NCSA has currently suspended the start of the Travel Spring Season until April 19th. The Lyndhurst Soccer Club (LSC) supports this proactive step to safeguard our players and their families and requests that all LSC Travel Teams suspend practices until it is deemed safe to resume.
Further, the Lyndhurst Recreation League Spring Season opening will also be postponed. We are currently targeting a start of May 1st which represents a two-week delay from our originally planned start date. Again, we ask that all teams refrain from scheduling practices until it is deemed safe to do so. Additional communication will be provided by the Board as we receive information from the Town and Health Officials.
This is an evolving situation and the LSC Board will remain in contact with Town Officials and Health Organizations so we can be aware of the most current information and guidance that is being provided. We will continue to communicate updates and changes as they become available. Until then, we appreciate everyone’s anticipated cooperation in this collaborative effort to maintain a safe and healthy environment for our Soccer Club Members and our Community.
Thank you and stay safe.

LSC had some big wins this soccer weekend, against some great teams. The 2009 Girls won their Bracket at the Parsippany Pride tournament. The girls tied Madison and then went through Stateline, STA and West Morris SC Premiere to go undefeated and take home 1st place. Congratulations to all the girls and coaches Jorge Amaral , Joe Baratta and Louie Serodio.
The 2010 Girls also won 1st place in the Saddle Brook Columbus Day tournament. Congratulations to all the girls and coaches John Montillo and Dana Marino.
At the Deptford Fall Festival the 2006 Boys took 2nd place playing against some top rated South Jersey Team. After losing first game 0-2 they won 2-0 and 5-0 to take 2nd place. Congrats to the boys and coach Gorge Sanchez and Sean Gilmore. Great weekend for the club.
By LSC Staff 09/20/2019, 1:00am EDT Lyndhurst High School soccer coach Kim Hykey and the girls team held clinics for our youth travel and rec players at the Rec Center in September. It was a great experience for the girls to get on the fields and train with the team and meet all the players. The girls showed their appreciation by returning in numbers to support the LHS Girls in their 3-2 win over Nutley. The team remains undefeated at 7-0.
By LSC Staff 07/07/2019, 1:00am Coach Joe Baratta and the Lyndhurst 2009 U11 Girls were special guests on Fox & Friends this past weekend for a segment on the 2019 Woman's World Cup. Well Done Coach. Great job girls...you all look great on TV.
